The power of a word
For decades we advertisers told others about disruption. Artificial intelligence has finally sobered us up – and raised the question of what business we are really in.
ReadThe story follows Kirsten, a painter and teacher born in East Berlin. After the death of her father, a once-renowned painter in the GDR, she inherits a painting that had been confiscated by the Stasi. The painting disappeared after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and Kirsten sets out on a journey to find it. Along the way, she encounters Goran, a journalist still grappling with the aftermath of the breakup of socialist Yugoslavia, and Diogo, a musician whose adolescence was shaped by Portugal’s Salazar dictatorship. As her journey unfolds, Kirsten confronts the emotional legacy of life under socialism and the transition that followed. Gradually, she begins to recognize the patterns that have shaped her emotional life and relationships.
